W1: "The World I Want to Live In"
In this technological era, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been normalized and is consistently used in our daily lives. AI's growth is so obvious and becoming more powerful day after day, people are starting to fear a world taken over by AI with humans becoming slaves. However, I'm on the opposite side of this perspective. The world I want to live in should be governed by AI. It shouldn't be led by imperfect human decisions, but by the logic, fairness, and precision of artificial intelligence. I believe a world designed and managed by ethical AI systems could create the peaceful, fair, and inclusive world we truly desire.
A World Powered by AI
In my ideal world, AI would be the sole leader, not through oppression or military force, but by leveraging its unparalleled analysis and problem-solving capabilities. AI could wisely allocate resources based on contribution, need, and sustainability, rather than privilege or politics. By continually analyzing environmental conditions, pollution and damage would be properly controlled, significantly improving global sustainability. Furthermore, essential services like healthcare, education, and safety would be equally distributed, as AI systems would not recognize race, class, or gender.
Other than that, the justice system will be rebuilt. AI would review and judge evidence, history, background, and behavior with no bias. Wealth and social status would no longer influence trials, meaning no more bribes, and no escape from guilt. In this system, everyone would truly be held equally accountable which in turn would make people more aware of their self-behavior, encouraging them to prevent violations against the law, avoid punishment or fines, and maintain a positive attitude.
On top of that, AI can undertake numerous tasks that are difficult or dangerous for humans, 3D jobs (Dangerous, Difficult, Dirty) can be managed and performed by robots and machines, which effectively preventing injuries and ensuring maximum efficiency (Biswa, 2024). AI's predictive analytics can also detect societal conflicts early, allowing for resolution through data-driven diplomacy before they escalate. While this transition would undoubtedly lead to the elimination of many jobs as human roles are replaced by AI, it would simultaneously create numerous new job opportunities and elevate the importance of education, fostering a collaborative future where humans and AI work together improve the world.
What stops this world from becoming a reality today?
I've seen bias in modern courts, where the powerful escape punishment while others face harsh sentences. I've also witnessed how capable individuals carry heavy burdens, while those who contribute nothing still enjoy comfortable lives, seemingly wasting resources. In my view, this shouldn't happen, this unfairness led me to imagine a new kind of justice. AI, free from corruption, can't be threatened, bribed, or manipulated, only focus on correctness and how to improve the world.
However, this dream may never come true. This is because AI is built by humans, and humans still want control. Capitalists and elites fear losing power. Why would they let AI distribute resources fairly when current systems benefit themselves? Why they support an honest AI justice system when manipulation currently protecting them?
Moreover, if humans fully depend on AI, we may lose our spark and bury our potential. Our creativity, independence, and growth might be dulled. A society that leans too much on AI risks becoming passive, just like overprotective parenting can stunt a child’s development. Too much order may dull innovation.
Technically, there is also the significant danger of flawed algorithms. If AI is trained on biased data or programmed by unethical hands, it can replicate or amplify injustice, turning this dream into nightmare.
AI and machines take over human jobs. (Hari, 2023)
Conclusion
The world I truly want isn't AI-led, but AI-supported. AI should guide us, not rule us. It can help us create better laws, distribute resources fairly, and spot corruption early. But we must remain critical, involved, and continuosly improve ourselves. We need to build a world where humans and machines co-lead, each making up for the other's weaknesses and not overdependance on AI. AI offers logic, and we offer empathy. Together, peace and justice aren't so impossible.
